“Suddenly, a blast of pain drove my legs out from under me. It felt like a 350- pound NFL lineman had punched me in the abdomen with all his might. I fell to the floor and curled into a fetal position, gasping for breath; the pain was that intense. Then I blacked out. I have no idea how long I laid there, but I eventually regained consciousness and slowly the pain subsided and I was able to get to my feet and return to my bedroom.”

Thank you so much for waiting so patiently as we finally released the first newsletter of the endometriosishelp.com web site. Not only is this a web site with information about signs and the symptoms of Endometriosis, but also we hope to be able to connect women together and make life a little easier. We hope to be able to give you all a place you can come to talk about symptoms and feelings, thoughts and dreams that only others in your similar circumstances can relate to. We will have women that can share with us wise counsel on how to go after our doctors for other options for healthcare. Women who have had Endometriosis, have had the physical pains and the emotional pains and can tell their stories in hopes that it can lift another.

Most of all, when you are feeling absolutely alone, this is a place for you to come to. I am the author of this web site. I started this web site because I not only was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was only 22 years of age, but after one surgery that was supposed to solve the problem, and heavy hormonal treatments, Endometriosis returned. Not only did it return, but it was worse than ever. Here I was a 24 and I was told that I would never have children. I was also told they would need to have a hysterectomy to get rid of my body of the condition. My doctor told me that I had a severe case of this condition. I had never been married, never had children, and already faced with the realization that I never would. As I thought what my life would be like if I had the hysterectomy it made me really question if there were other alternatives. I was very young and every other aspect, healthy I just knew there was another way. After a lot prayer and a lot of searching, I finally found something! I now am free from the condition known as Endometriosis. I no longer have it. I no longer have the debilitating cramps, and dizziness, the mood swings and the depression, and the migraine headaches.

And best of all, I have two beautiful children! (Which is one of the reasons this letter has taken so long to get out to you). My journey is one of triumph. I overcame the odds and beat them. I hope that in my story you will find this support you need conquer your battles with this terrible condition.

Every three months we will be sending out a new newsletter. Please e-mail us your comments on the newsletter and the web site. Give me your ideas and questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely, with love,

Dr. Chase.
